Google has introduced a new product that will allow merchants to accept credit cards through a cell phone. All a consumer will need to do is hold their phone close enough to a terminal in order to make their payment. I believe this technology will take off. How soon I don’t know but anything that goes through a phone it seems that the younger generation is more than willing to try. It would be a lot easier not having to carry all your credit cards around in your wallet to make payments. The issue it seems to me is how quick will retailers be willing to make the equipment changes so they can take advantage of the new technology. Time will tell.
